Let's hope for an up trend move today.

VLNC had another up day. The charts seem to show a
strong up trend. Should hit resistence around 2.25.

ISV should begin a move up pretty soon. I believe it
has established support around the mid 1.50's. When I first started trading, I subscribed to newsletters and read "stock picking" websites. They always gave multiple picks to choose from and it was confusing. This is why I narrow down some 10 -15 picks from a scanner, then look at there charts to try and find the one that could turn a quick 10-15% profit within a month. Sure I miss out on a lot of winners, but I also avoid a lot of losers. Secondly, I'm a married father with two children under the age of 4. I'm not an expert, but I've been picking pretty good winners lately.

I'm knocking around the idea of having a contest between myself and any readers that would be interested. The contest: Take $1,000 and invest it in a pick. When it makes a 10 15% profit, sell it and find another stock to play. This is very similar to the "Stock Market" game that many middle and high school student play each year. The purpose: To see what an amateur can do with $1,000. If anyone is interested in doing this with me, leave me a comment.

New Pick ISV

ISV will be added to our list. Check out my post from a couple of days ago. I speculated that the charts showed a potential winner. Yea...for me. APAC went up another 2.11% today. We'll keep watching.

Win:
7 (15%)
1 (19%)
1 (8%)

Lose:

Open:
3

Today's Summary and Chart Details

Summary:
Today was another decent day for our portfolio. AVNC was our big gainer at 4.07%. If AVNC hits 1.80 or higher we can make our 15% profit. QSC made a small 2% gain, APAC made a 1.6% gain, and GNLB was our only loser for the day at 2.27%. This could be a sign of a sell off/correction. I’ve seen this before a decent run. Let’s hope for the best. GNLB’s chart still looks good. As always, read about GNLB before you decide to buy. GNLB has broke above its 20 day high mark. It then went up dramatically today after a down day. It looks like GNLB hit the bottom and will moving back up above 2.50. By the way, I call this my experiement because I want to see if I can do better than a real broker. According to many websites, the stock market and IRA's return an average of 10% historically. I want to see if I can have a 10% return of higher without depending on a broker for advice. I sold CTRA today for a 7% gain because their news release mentioned that the company was being sold to another company. Honestly, I don't know enough about that to want to waste my time. I decided to take a 7% gain and move on to another stock. My other stocks are making some gains and one is still stinking. AVNC should hit our 15% mark soon. It missed it today by .01. I'll put in to sale at 1.85. Later this evening, my new stock pick will be posted.

Here's the total so far:

Wins: 7 (15%) 1 (7 %)

Open: 3

Today's Information

From the looks of things we did decent. I've been doing this for myself as a hobby for about two years. I enjoy finding stocks that anyone can afford and making a little money off them. I don't always win...Then again, I don't always lose. I've linked my stock picks to Yahoo Finance for you to read the company profile and see the current charts. I will try to post one or two a day if my work and family schedule permit. Check out my current portfolio to see my other wins and my open picks (That means those that haven't won yet). Here's two of my charts from November:
I bought IMMU @ 2.00 on November 24th and sold it on Dec. 9 for @ 2.27. Grant it that's not enough to retire on, but it is a 15% return on your money. Let's take a look at my other pick from November:

I bought CCUR on Nov. 8 @1.67 and sold on Nov. 25th @ 1.95. This was another 15% gain (minus commission) It's a lot of fun to find these little stocks and trade them.

I understand, and so should you, that these types of picks are very risky. That's why they are a lot of fun. If you are interested in my picks, I would suggest only investing between $500 to $1500 of your investment pool on these types of stocks. The rest of course should be in stable investments such as bonds, IRA's, and mutual funds. I've got to have a little fun with my investment. I'll post my current portfolio and picks for this week.
